Summary of Civilization: The people lived in the narrow valleys formed by rivers that flowed from the peaks to the desert floor. About 200b.c the Chavin suddenly dissapeared. Discovered in the temples at Chavin de huantar in Peru, this stone head praboly represented a god. Their capitol was in the Andes mountains within 50 miles of the coast of Peru,South America. Geography: The mountains soar more than 2 miles into the air. The most known moutains are the Andes Moutains which served as the Chavin's capital.

Climate: The climate is very dry. It is located in modern day Peru,South America. Art and Architecture: The Chavins were very accomplished artists who painted cats, crocodiles, serpents, and jaguars were also common. The Chavin were excelled gold smiths. Culture (Religion, Customs, Food, ect.): They made eloborate textiles,pottery, and stone carvings. As wikipedia states The chavin had a cult which promoted fertility and abundant harvests. Chavins may have sacrified animals to please the gods for abundance in harvests. Shells were used as musical instuments by drilling a hole in the shell so it could be used as a horn for celebrations.
Technology (Farming, hunting?):
People found Coca,Chili Peppers,Salt,and Dried Fish at the Chavin ruins.
The Chavin used stone axes to cut throught woods to hunt or make path ways. The foods that were found were no native to the area. They thought this might be a trade route.
